BOX HAiR DYE... EFFECTiVE?

im 13 i have blonde hair that is starting to get a little darker so i wanted to bleach it blonde. getting it done perfesionally is to expensive right now because my parents refuse to pay for it... i have soooper thin hair and it doesnt grow fast at all so i thought that it would be ok...but does it generally work well???

It is affective but make sure it washes out after like 29 times. If its permenent and you dont like it dont expect to color it in a month or so because it wont work even if it is permenent also!

my mom usually dyes her hair at a salon for a stupidly high price( 400-450) and the colour didnt last hardly a week.

When she tried the box colour she was soooooo freakin happy because it actually worked and was easy to do!

for lighter hair, put lemon juice in it wet and sit in the sun.

or try Sun-In on wet hair and blow dry it.

always worked for me!

even tho your hair is blonde

you said its really thin

i would be careful doing the blonde yourself, because if it turns yellow..then you wont like it

i would wait a bit and during the summer your hair should lighten up.

I would recommend L'oreal Feria color 110 Starlet or color 82 Desert Flower.... Starlet would be the best for what you are wanting.

Your hair will go through a color scale as you color not knowing how light your hair is right now I can't say how large a scale it will go through but the biggest issue is people follow the time on the box instead of watching their hair to see when they get past the orange phase. Rinse when the orange is gone (highly unusual for this to take more than an hour).

After you dye use an oil treatment (V05 has a great oil treatment) you can find it at any drug store. Saturate your hair with the oil (usually need more on the ends of your hair). Grab a hot damp towel and wrap your hair up, leave it on for 15 minutes or so then rinse with cold water.......3 minute miracle is a conditioner that works "miracles :P" on dry hair, it is by Aussie and hydrates very well. I would switch to an Olive oil shampoo and invest in some spray-in leave-in conditioner .... Biolage is a great product line and you can purchase it at the salon. Oil treatments should be done once a week for a month and you will see a major difference in your hair. 2-4 times a month in general....

If you can not get to the store for the oil treatment, use Olive oil in it's place.

Do the oil treatment then after that use the 3 minute miracle...... after that rinse and do not wash your hair for 2 days, this allows the natural oils from your scalp to reach from root to tip and this helps your hair heal on it's own....after 2 days shampoo with the above product(s).

I always think that boxed blonde dye or bleach makes hair look really yellow and brassy.

I knew a girl that dyed hers blonde and it turned like nasty grey-ish blonde.

I haven't known many people that were happy with the results of dying their own hair blonde.

I usually use use a spray bottle of lemon juice on my hair, then sit in the sun. It helps bring out the natural highlights, and is completely safe.

Chamomile tea works really well too.

The words "hair" and "bleach" should NEVER be used in the same sentence. Do not bleach your hair! You can safely color with Loreal Feria or Loreal Preference or Clairol Natural Instincts, and follow the directions exactly. It will cost you less than ten dollars each time. Go one shade lighter at a time; you can't lighten hair a lot in one process.
