I Want My Hair Thinned!!!!?

I have really thick long hair and i desperatly want it to be thin, sleek and NORMAL but everytime i go to the hairdressers, it never is thinner when she's finished, even though shes thinned it out, what can i say to her (is there a certain name for thin sleek hair?) to make her make it thin like normal people :'(

I get my hair thinned out all the time.

I am VERY specific when I ask about it.

When you make your next appointment, you need to ask them which stylist is familiar with thinning techniques using scissors rather than thinning shears. If they come back at you with an actual person, then they know what you are talking about.

The key is to wash, dry, and straighten your hair with an iron first... THEN cut and thin out your hair. try to avoid thinning shear since it makes dry hair appear damaged, and try to go to a salon where the stylists are masters with scissors or razors, and they will know exactly what you mean.

At your next appointment, ask wHAT THEY really DO TO GET HAIR THINNED OUT. iF YOU DON'T WANT TO USE THOSE EXPENSIVE STRAIGHTENING TREATMENTS THAT GIVE YOU SLEEK HAIR, THEN USE A RELaxer or hair mask. Also, ask for a lot of layers which take out the bulk of your hair. Good luck and sorry about the Caps Lock! (:

I had the same situation years ago. I used to get my hair thinned but it never worked. The only solution I found to keep my hair shinny and sleek was with a hair straightener, they work wonders if you get a good one. I would recomend a Chi or one from a salon that has moisture control. Good luck.
