Why do people wet there hair every time they shower? why don't they keep it out of the way?

I hardly ever put my hair in water when i shower (only when i was it) but what really is the point?

-- oh and if you can answer this quesiton too..; is it bad to use hair straighners, blow dryers, curlers every day?? b/c i do it.. and i'm wondering if my hair is gonna look really bad and thin when i'm older

i'm just worried about this b/c if you look at my mom right now (she's 46) she has reaally thin hair thinner than mine and she doesnt have gray hair .. it's SO THIN, knotty, dry, and frizzy. i'm scared i might get hair like her when i'm older cuz hers looks really bad..

I have to wash mine every day or it looks greasy because I'm always touching my hair.

You should try and lay off all the straighteners and blow dryers and all that like on a day maybe you're just staying in the house and it won't matter or put it up one day to give it a break.

You should get a heat protector spray or something if you really need to use all that stuff every day because you'll be frazzling it otherwise.

if you do EVERY day then yeah but try to keep it on med and not high and make sure ur hair is dry when you do it too.. cuase if it isnt you will make it dry.... and maybe u will get her hair just wash it.. and when u do keep the conditionar in for like a min longer then the shampoo so it doesnt get dry or knotty :P well bye! :D good luck

i wash my hair every day so that's why i wet it every time i shower. thinning hair is often hereditary or can also be due to stress. knotty, dry, frizzy hair can be due to over processing -- so yes, straighteners and hair coloring can cause this.

You should ALWAYS wash your hair when you shower!! Yes your hair can get fried if you use straighteners, curlers, etc. everyday.

Normally, each time I shower I wash my hair, that's why I do it.

The question about heating products--I suggest you give your hair some days off. In generally if you are off a couple of days, why not do some hot oil treatments and lay out side or sit under a dryer. Something that will keep the heat going. This will give your hair a much needed break and will keep it conditioned so that when you do use those products, your hair will be a bit stronger and more easy to manage. Just because your mom has that type of hair doesn't mean you have to. But like everything else you must take care of it, starting now..

Ok so i wash my hair every day or else it gets greasy but i dont know why people would wet it and not wash it. That would be pretty stupid.

But for the second question, yeah straighteners and stuff are bad for your hair. They make it dry and sometimes it breaks. It's ok to use them 2-3 times a week but you shouldnt use them every day for damaging purposes.

And yes using straighteners, blow dryers any heated objects will damage your hair. There are products that you can apply prior to using the heat in a way to protect the hair from breakage, but this doesn't completely work but will help a great deal. You shouldn't use them everyday, just let it be natural once in a while.

it's easier to wash yoour hair when you shower, just because it takes a few minutes extra. Also, straightening cannot affect new growth of hair, so dont worry. Your mum probably dyes her hair if she has no greys, this will make it thin and knotty, as it damages your hair badly, especially if she is blonde.

I would say that depends on how often you tak a shower. people wet their hair to clean it. If you use a lot of hair products everyday you need to be using a shampoo and conditioner (every time you shower!) that will keep your hair moisturized and healthy.

Thin hair is probably more part of genetics. Take care of yours while you can.

the point of wetting your hair every time they shower is to wash [shampoo and conditioner] it. if u dont it will get greasy and gross.

Just wash ur hair atleast every otehr day and try not to straighten it or blow dry it everyday bcuz it WILL damage ur hair BADLY.

try 2 only dio that once a week at the most bcuz u will get a lot of split ends. Ur hair will look realallyy bad in the long run

I think you should get your hair wet when you shower. If you think about all of your daily activites you probably do alot of stuff. I sweat alot and I dont like my hair being oily or greasy. If you are in the shower and are already washing your body, might as well wash your hair too. But thats just me
