Does hair come from mums or dads side?

I am 16 and have had very thin hair since 14. I had a blood test done and everything was fine so the dermotologist told me that I have one of two things. Male pattern baldness or in her opinion, it is diffuse alopecia.

My hair line has not receded but the other way round, my hair line is the thickest part where my hair grows. On my temples, there is also hair loss. The edges of my hair has thick dense hair, but everywhere else very thin hair.

My dads side lose there hair by the age of 35 but on my mums side, my grandfather who is 70 has a full head of hair and no receding of the hair line. Same for my mums brother.

according to 9th grade biology, hair is incomplete dominance. (genetically, can be anywhere from 0-100% mom's or dad's)

you can inherit either your moms or your dads or one of you ansestors hair its diffrent for every kid, or you could get a mix of both

It depends.It can be either way.I got my hair from my dad's side and it is thick and curly.

I've avoided actually taking a genetics course in university...but from what I understand, it's both mom and dad. There are some grandparents in there too.

Let's hope you get your mom's side! You might want to do more research on alopacia. I know it's not curable, but you can delay the effects by taking prenatal meds or massaging your head. Pulling your hair back and stressing your hair follicules may just accelerate the process.
