Hair Style Question.?

I am a male, '30 something' professional with thin, natural blonde hair. I have worn the same style, which is parted down the middle, for many years. I am interested in changing hair styles but am at a loss as to what I should do. Can anyone suggest a hair style that will look good with thin hair, make my hair look thicker, works well in the corporate world, and does not look outdated. Thanks.

Hair Style Question.?

Keep your hair no longer than 2" on top (part on side vs down the middle...middle parts are dated) clippered with 1/2 to 3/4" on sides and back and blend into the top at the temples. (no weight lines...very dated). Depending on how blonde you are, you may want to consider depening your color a bit to appear a bit thicker, no more than 2 levels. Good luck!

Hair Style Question.?

have you checked out harrison ford lately, that little spiked hair is very sexy and very professional.

Hair Style Question.?

A crew cut is nice but if you don't want it that short try slicking it back. Good luck

Hair Style Question.?

a messy shorter look is always in and it works for business or casual. I love blonde hair in this look!

Shaving Hair?

I have a friend who has very thing hair in the front of her scalp and was thinking about shaving her hair off so that it can regrow. So my question is, will shaving hair on head regrow her hair differently so that the thin hair area on her scalp will no longer be there?

Shaving Hair?

No, the only reason as to why you may think that is because people tend to think that shaving will make hair grow back thicker. It really doesnt, shaving cuts hair bluntly which gives the appearance of it being thicker when it really isnt.

Does waxing really make the hair grow back thinner and lighter?

It is said that waxing and shaving makes no difference and the hair grows back exactly the same. Those who wax say that shaving makes hair thicker and darker, and vice versa. Is there anyone who has tried both or waxed for a long period of time? Does waxing really make the hair thinner? On personal experience, my hairs that were previously pulled out now appear darker and thicker-- and no i don't think i imagine it. So does waxing make hair come back thinner after many times, anyone have recommend waxing or prove that it made hair thinner?

Does waxing really make the hair grow back thinner and lighter?

its true trust me from personal experience. waxing lasts wayyyyyyy longer and comes back lighter and finer each time so that after awhile hair will harbly grow back at all. shaving just cuts the hair follicle so it doesnt really go away but comes back thicker.!!!

Does waxing really make the hair grow back thinner and lighter?

It is possible because with waxing you are pulling the hair from the roots whereas with shaving you are only shaving off what is above the surface and the root is still there. It takes longer for your hair to grow with waxing and it does come in finer.

Does waxing really make the hair grow back thinner and lighter?

yes it really does and eventually the follicle dies...then their is no hair

Does waxing really make the hair grow back thinner and lighter?

its true

Have your thyroid checked. Thinning dull

hair is a symptom of a thyroid problem.

Hair thinning problem... what is causing it and what can i do?

dying will kill your hair extremly fast!!! my mom dyes hers blonde alot and it doesnt grow anymore because it breaks off on the ends and just looks horrible. i suggest you stop dying it all hair dye frys your hair. I currently use Biotin 5,000 iu, vitamin E, vitamin B-12 and a multivitamin. Alot of hair growth is from the inside out. Avacado oil also has alot of vitamins and is great for the scalp and you can also try lavander oil. i suggest you make sure your hair is deeply conditioned once a week. i personally love the avacado oil (rub into your scalp and hair really well) (buy at healthfood stores) and then on top of that rub in the hemp and placenta mix (packets at walmart in hair section) you can also use olive oil as a great moisturizer as well. make sure to wrap your head in a warm heated towel for about 30 mins or so and then rinse really well. Don't shampoo though or else you undo what you have done. My hair came out super soft and not at all greasy, and very tangle free. i suggest you make sure your hair is deeply conditioned once a week. i personally love the avacado oil (rub into your scalp and hair really well) (buy at healthfood stores) and then on top of that rub in the hemp and placenta mix (packets at walmart in hair section) you can also use olive oil as a great moisturizer as well. make sure to wrap your head in a warm heated towel for about 30 mins or so and then rinse really well. Another hair dyeing question?

Okay well, for those of u that already know, I dyed my hair like a month and 1 week ago and at 1st we just wanted to fix my blonde hair w/ more blonde dye but it turned barbie blode so we tried to fix that w/ ash blonde and it turned grey! so then we tried to fix that with strawberry blonde and it pretty much helped. now my hair is sorta dark blonde but they grey is starting to come back. I want to dye my hair light blonde w/ darker brown highlights. can n e 1 give me n e suggestions on what I cud do to fix it, asap ? or like how long I should w8 to dye it? I'de also like it if there are any good suggestions of places to get hair cuts at bcuz I want to get a sorta scene-ish-preppy hair cut [ suggestion pics wud be nice ;) ] [and ez volumizing techniques that work bcuz I have super thin hair]

btw, my hair didnt fall out and I got all the fried ends cut off a couple weeks ago. I use aussie 3 minute miracle also so my hair isnt super dry really.

Another hair dyeing question?

Wow you sound just like me :] I had dyed my hair soo many times that it was falling out and going crazy.

I would recommened you going to a salon and ask them for advice. Your hair will probably need a deep conditioning treatment to put nutrients back into your damaged hair. At that point you could also get your hair cut in a really edgy fun way. (The stylist will know what looks best for your face).

I am not sure where you live , so I can't really recommend any particular salon. I would ask around, and even get a consultation at the salon to make sure you are comfortable with the products they use and their level of experience.

I would NOT do your hair yourself. I'm sure you probably don't want another mishap, so it is definately best to go to a salon.

Hair thinning on the crown. Anyone used Regaine before? Looking for pros and cons regarding its use?

Hi all, I am 27 and for the past 2 years, the hair on the crown of the head has started thinning rapidly. I have read a couple of articles on the internet about using 'Regaine' hair products to stimualte hair growth. I was wondering if anyone out there has been using these products, and can offer any advice regarding going for it, or not. Thanks, VJ

Hair thinning on the crown. Anyone used Regaine before? Looking for pros and cons regarding its use?

Hi, VJ,

I have read about the great results achieved by using Regaine.

I was slowly loosing my hair and went to buy the product.

Unfortunately once at home, I read at the packet that it was not suitable for the over sixties so I had to returned it.

I wish I could have been able so use it and maybe see some good reults.

You are luckier. Right age.

Wish you the best of luck.

Once suggestion, though, if it doesn't work for you, you can always try rubbing the spot with avocado oil.

Is working slowly for me. At least the hair is not falling so much.

Cheers,

Can hair salons do any type of hairstyles?

i got kind a few questions and if any of yall know please answer

(1) can salons change hairstyles permanently?

(2) can they change textured hair, like african texture to fine thin hair or fine thin hair to african tex.?

(3)last one, does anyone know if they can do an exact copy of khleo thomas hair from the movie "holes"? his hair is so tight..

(they=hair salon)

Can hair salons do any type of hairstyles?

yes until it grows out yes they did it with beyonce i think and not sure...

Can hair salons do any type of hairstyles?

no! most hair salons do not have anyone who can do really good styles.....they will SAY that they can though...the best thing is to watch them do some styles and when you see a person who knows what they are doing ask them if they can do what you want...dont trust 'em till you have seen 'em in action! i have had ruined hair more than once from expensive salons.....as for ? #2, there is some really cool stuff named Chi that my friend used and it turned her very very curly hair straight and it looked great!check it out....

Can hair salons do any type of hairstyles?

1-no most hair salons can't change hairstyles permanently.

2-you are born with the texture of your hair, so you can't change it, however you can make the apperance of it seemingly change. but then it goes back to q1, it won't be like that forever

3-lol, um the curly afro do? if your hair is finely textured than you will probably need to use a texturizer to attempt to get that look.

make sure you find a salon that specializes in do's such as khleo's, then talk to them about the reality of your hair.

Age 17 w/ thinning hair?

my hair has drastically thinned over the past year..probably a little more than a year. it grows just fine..3-5 inches past my shoulder. i don't have any bald spots..it's just a lot thinner than it should be..which makes it hard to style..should i consider a hair implant/transplant?

Age 17 w/ thinning hair?

yes.

Age 17 w/ thinning hair?

Have you talked to your doctor to check for any kind of vitamin deficiencies or immune system problems? It could be a real issue, especially as a teenager. He/She will be able to help you with the transplant issues, but there could be even something more serious! Good luck!

Age 17 w/ thinning hair?

If there are no patches and you don't notice alot of hair falling out you should be fine. You are probably just growing into your hair. Alot of people have thin hair and if you are concerned you could get a transplant but I wouldn't worry if I were you.

Age 17 w/ thinning hair?

If it annoys you, you should get some transplants. If it doesn't annoy you, cut your hair short and have fun.

Age 17 w/ thinning hair?

Maybe you should talk to your doctor to make sure nothings wrong but if it isn't then try a volumized hairspray. If thats not your problem then i might consider it if i were you.

Age 17 w/ thinning hair?

Try not using any heated tools on your hair. E.g straightners, curlers e.t.c.

If blow drying your hair...ALWAYS ALWAYS use a pre-treatment heat defence. I recommend Treseme, since it's well-known and known to work a hell of good.

Try just using a shampoo, lots of bad conditioners tend to make hair weak and fall out.

Try not to use hairspray/gel too much. This can damage your hair at first, make it brittle, and obviously slightly harder to wash out. And not to colour your hair to much either.

I don't think a hair transplant is an option at your age, I've heard a lot of the time it goes wrong and is totally noticable. Try clip in extensions or hair pieces . Glued ones, make the hair thinner.

Could be some vitamin deficiencies or something like that...I suggest just going to your GP for info.

I may sound like an idiot. But yes Im only fifteen, but my hair has also thinned out a bit over the past year or so. Just try different stuff, but ALWAYS remember to pre treat your hair!

Age 17 w/ thinning hair?

Why not see a dermatologist? He or she should be able to determine whether or not your hair is actually thinning and, if so, should be able to diagnose the cause. Autoimmune illness, thyroid condition, and hormonal issues could be the cause.

Age 17 w/ thinning hair?

I think you'll be all right. And you can make the decision of getting hair transplants. I would suggest using V05 Extra Body Conditioner. And don't brush your hair A LOT. That will cause breaking and some thinning. So just think positive thoughts, consult your doctor and take care of yourself!

I was on prednisone for 2 months. 2 months after stopping drug I noticed hair thinning!!!?

I was on prednisone for 2 months. 2 months after stopping drug I noticed hair thinning!!!?

oh my god...yes! never again will i go on that drug. like the song said;by PINK; instead of making me better it's making me Ill'.....the only solution for the receding hair w/loss is a good dermatologist!! trust me. nothing else can help due to the fact that it comprise your immune system. over the counter and home remedy's are just wasting time ,money and HOPE! the Rx you'll need will have to be blended just for you. be very careful around people with any kind of illness 'cause your very venerable right now. see a Rx and Dr. ...asap!

Hair loss on temples please help!?

I am 16 and have very very thin hair. My whole scalp is visable and has been like this since 14. Blood tests have been done and all is ok.

I think it could be male pattern baldness as my dad is bald, but no one has lost there hair on my mums side.

Do you lose hair on the temples with male pattern baldness? My temples are just as thin as my top and my dad has more hair on his temples compared to me.

Will I have no hair even on my sides when I am 18?

Hair loss on temples please help!?

About 50 to 100 milligrams a day of vitamin B6 taken for one or two months helps decrease hair fall. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

HoW CAN I DAMAGE MY HAIR ?????????

By damaging your hair doesn't mean that's gonna make-it disappear! And also you can damage your skin also.So I don't think that's a good idea! When I was very young,I tried to burn off my hair from my legs, but all I did it was a very nasty smell in the house! And of course the hair grove back the same it was before!

HoW CAN I DAMAGE MY HAIR ?????????

You should get sand paper and rub ut anywhere you have hair (accept your underarms)

HoW CAN I DAMAGE MY HAIR ?????????

They have these devices called epilators now, and they look kinda like electric shavers. Basically there are pieces inside it that pluck your body hairs from your skin. It's similar to tweezing, but more at a time. I will not lie, it does hurt a bit but it's not unbearable. Waxing hurts a lot more. But as you use it over time, the hairs stop growing in, or at the least they will grow in very sparsely. I used it on my legs only once or twice and a bunch of the hair didn't come back at all. It plucks from the follicle, so the whole thing comes out and takes a while (around 2-3 weeks) to come back if it does. The epillators cost about the same as an electric shaver, and are sold next to the nair and stuff in beauty supply stores or drugstores. They have a spray you can buy that is supposed to numb your skin somewhat, and it also helps if you take a painkiller before you use the epillator

HoW CAN I DAMAGE MY HAIR ?????????

Maybe you should try to bleach it repeatedly. There really is no other way but laser. Read this: http://www.epinions.com/content_52816416...

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

my hair is like sorta wavy and has alot of volume to it but i want it to be really thin at the ends and really straight do you have any ideas how to make it thin? how to straighten hair properly?

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

when you get your hair cut ask them to razor the ends, I have extremely thick hair and always have this done.

as for straightening, use a straight serum and heat protection spray. however, if you're straightening every day I highly recommend relaxing you hair, I used a natural relaxer on my friend and her hair was in healthier after we relaxed it than before:

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

find a hairdresser who will cut your hair with a razor.

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

Get lots of layers and straighten your hair. Hope I helped!

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

use gel or sunsilk then iron it straight it might come out right

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

straighten it....

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

Well i have the same hair as you, and if you cannot get it professionally thinned at a salon then what you should do is only put conditioner at the end of your tips when washing so that it will stay moist and down. And also if you use any sort of hair product that straightens your hair like a sleeker or something apply more at the tips. hope this helped!

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

Try getting layers to thin out the ends a bit. And you could invest in a fifteen dollar ceramic hair straightener at wal mart.

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

go to a salonist and ask them to add a few layers around the bottom of your hair

also ask the to razor it not use sissors

razoring your hair makes it thinner and have less defined edges but it also looks very cute

hope this helps :)

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

You could try using a good straightening iron. But if i had wavy hair,I wouldn't do anything with the tips.Be thankful you have wavy volumey hair!I wish I had it!I say don't try to thin your hair!

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

Use a straightening iron or a real big round brush and smooth out the ends.....Aveda hair products are good too! they have a straightening gel that works great...

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

My hair is like that too. All you can do is simply get a perm. or straighten it. I bought a cheap straightener that works when your hair is wet, too. That's what I recommend.

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

hairdressers have a little tool that thins out the hair. I have too much hair too, and it must be thinned constantly. Ask a hairdresser to thin it out...they should know what it means.

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

trim it and straighten it

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

you can just ask whoever

people get it done all of the time

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

I think there is some sort of cutting tool. I don't know but I want to so I stared the question for you!

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

Use a hot oil treatment, then blow dry hair. Pull up top 2/3 of hair. Use a flat iron to straighten bottom layer of hair. Put rest of hair down and straighten the tips of the top 2/3 layers. For fun, use a small flat iron to take top 2/3 layers and wrap hair around outside of iron. Start wrapping the hair 2 inches away from the tips, to even out your waves

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

i think if you go to the salon they have scissors that will thin it... ask your hairdresser

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

If you straighten your hair in smaller sections it can help for a better quality straighten. As far as making your hair thinner, you just have to have it trimmed and thinned out. you should be able to go to a hair salon and they'll do it for you.

How do i make my hair thinner at the tips?

you sould go to a pro but at the ends take a razor and just go up and down until u have the desired thickness.... or get layers at the bottom

Women and hair loss...replacement? rogaine?

Is there any women out there that have had hair replacement or have used a hair regrowth system due to thinning or already thinned hair? What did you do? Did it work? Do you have to continuously use it? Men can answer too. I am a 38 year old female who has always had thin hair due to having seizures when I was younger. The tests and the medications caused my hair to thin. I haven't had a seizure since I was 10 and am no longer on medicine, however, my hair has never regrown. I am very self conscious about it. I want to try new styles and I don't want to feel like everyone is looking at my scalp ya know? any advice??? and please just real answers or advice. thanks

Women and hair loss...replacement? rogaine?

over the counter products give the feel and confidence of long thick hair They aren't a reliable solution . I have had clients get hair pieces that look like the real thing . They are light weight and easy to maintain .

my suggestion to you is to get a good short cut and take vitamins . The longer you are off of meds the healthier you hair will be .

Have you ever considered wigs .? I sell them and there are many styles . Check out Racquel Welch line of wigs they are beautiful.

Women and hair loss...replacement? rogaine?

I was recently told that using garlic shampoo can stimulate hair growth with daily use... my boyfriends uncle had been missing a patch of hair for years, and he started using it and is natural hair actually started filling in. It could be worth trying!

Oily skin and greasy hair, HELP?!?

I have combonation skin and it's a pain in the butt. I also have acne and have come to accept the fact the only time can help me, but how long exactly are we talking? I'm 15, will I be 20 by that time? Or can it happen in a year? I waisted around $1000 on acne producs and face washes. Any advice? And at school after a couple of hours my face gets really oily.

My hair gets really greasy. I have to wash it everyday or else I feel so nasty in the morning. I know washing your hair alot makes it thinner and weaker and I already have very finr thin hair. I have tried sooo many volumizing shampoos and conditioners, but of course they don't work. Also, in school after about 4 hours, my hair gets really stringy and thinner.

And one more question, if I took a shower in the morning before school, will my face stay dryer and my hair thicker. And its really weird, in the summer I don't have any acne or oily skin, but all other seasons it sucks. Help me please.

Oily skin and greasy hair, HELP?!?

i have that problem too. went in depression for bout a month

1. after you take a shower in the morning, put oil free moisturizer on your face. shampoo your hair in the morning.

2. tie back your hair and keep it out of your face when you don't need to look gorgeous.

3. when you sweat tie back your hair and make sure you wash off the sweat.

4. don't touch your face.

5. don't pick, squeeze or pop any zits no matter how tempting it is.

6.try using pro active to get rid of acne, or biore to control it.

7. when your face gets oily at school wipe off some oil w/ a moist towel.

8.only condition your hair from the ears down.

9. eat healthy. follow the food pyramid

10. drink lots of water! it hydrates your skin and hair and flushes out all the impurities in your body.

Oily skin and greasy hair, HELP?!?

well i use to have acne like for 2 years and it all started goin away the middle of last year if u have bangs keep them up as much as possible and ur hair when u sleep well i dont know wht else to say

good luck

Hair extension?

I want hair extension but i want to know how the process work? I have thin hair and hair extension can make my hair look more volumize and full. I want it to look and be completely professional and how long can i keep it until i have to take it out? can i tye up my hair if i get hair extension? Does it hurt? b/c some ppl stitch it to the head. Thank You.

Hair extension?

If you don't want to do something so permanent, that won't damage your hair, you might consider trying the new Jessica Simpson clip-in hair extensions. They are fantastic. They come in many colors, including high/low lighted. You can also make your hair shorter, with some of her extensions.

I am a licensed cosmetologist and can tell you that it will damage your hair to some extent getting extensions. The extent of damage will depend on the type of extensions, and the person applying them.

Hair extension?

yup u can tie ur hair up.. and do nythin u want no theyre not stitched but theyre glued tht glue is invisible though u cnt c it.. but hair extensions defentlli add an asset to ur looks! i would advice ni1 to have them.. "}

Hair extension?

I got extentions for my brothers wedding, they looked really good. I would definatly try them out. They just glue them in and they dont hurt. they give you extra glue too so you can fix them. they only stay for about a week.-

Hair extension?

the extensions are not stitched directly into the head. if you want them sewn in, you would have to get cornrows in your hair first, so that way they can be sewn to the braid not the scalp. it only hurts if they miss the braid, and if you never had cornrows in your head before, you won't even feel the needle after that.

I have poofy, curly hair and I want thinner wavy hair or close to that. I need a good hair cut or so

can u help me or help me with a desison ? my hair is dirty blond. it goes to about my elbows and it dries fast , its poofy and curly . if i cut it shorter and thin it out it will be poofyer and little bit thinner. also easier to manage. it will be shorter and easier to brush and straiten i dont know if i should leave it or cut it , my goal is no poof

I have hair just like that and the only way i can get it straight and not poofy is to flat iron it. You can get your hair thinned but that just gives you more flyaways and frizzier hair. You're right, the shorter your hair is the poofier it is. My advice to you is to get a trim and instead of trying to get y our hair flatter and less poofy you should apply moose to it and embrace your curls by scrunching your hair. The moose will give you banana curls and eliminate the frizz.

Well if your hair is dry, cut it. Maybe just a trim would be goo enough. If you don't want any "poof", try blow-drying your hair and straighten it a little bit while blow-drying to make it wavy. Also put in straightening cream/gel stuff before blow-drying so it doesn't become curly and poofy again after blow-drying.

well you can go to your hair salon and ask to get it razored cut. the razor is used to thin the hair so there's less bulk, and less bulk = less poof. i think they razor the middle of you hair and you'd prolly end up with layers, but i've heard that his razor cut helps a lot. i'm thinking about getting it, but i just got regular layers so i'm still waiting for my hair to grow out. but yeah, ask about it. hope i helped and good luck!

I feel your pain, my hair's the same way. And it seems that no matter what shampoo/conditioner i use, it's naturally just that way.

What finally got it to calm down and be the smooth, straight, shiny hair I wanted was a straightener. I bought a Chi hair straightener from my hair stylist and it's like a dream. It sooths the cuticles of the hair and really seals everything to keep it from frizzing. The only thing you need to worry about is making sure you don't damage your hair with all that direct heat. I use Zero Frizz Shine Mist, but any kind of 'shine spray' works nicely. Section your hair off, spritz a couple of times on each chunk (do maybe 2 inches at a time). Takes a little bit of time, but it works.

I would recommend a product by "I. S. O." called "Bouncy Cream" it is light enough to allow the hair to curl but not frizz.

Also please invest in a shampoo for chemically treated hair. (Chemically treated shampoo has less detergent than a shampoo for normal hair.)

I would also suggest a moisturizing conditioner.

If you get all the products from a salon you will be much happier with the results.

What most people do not know is that when they by a product for hair from let's say, Wal-Mart, C. V. S., Walgreens, etc, etc, etc... is that the product has been watered down.

I have been a licensed cosmetologist for over thirty years.

Hope this helps.
