i need some hair help. first of all i have very thin hair. in all of these pics, i dont hve layered hair but now i do. it is not like short layers because of my thin hair. i dont want to go to short. help!

by the way, my hair doesnt curl easily and goes flat fast!

i would go to a professional salon and invest in a good-quality professional haircut. i would reccomend some side-swept bangs or other kind of bangs to add the illusion of thicker hair by bringing it onto your face. you might even want to consider some highlights to brighten it up and bring it out a bit more. your stylist will probably reccomend a good volume line (like pureology) and a blow-dry amplifier (you spray it on while your hair's still wet to add lift to the root when you blowdry). I would definitely reccomend to blow-dry your hair with a diffuser (the air is less intense and more gentle, adding volume). good luck!

bleach. damage makes it look fuller and it will cooperate when you style it. I don't mean bleach to an extreme, but lightening it and highlighting will make it look thicker.

At sally they have clip in hair extensions that will match every hair color they cost about 70$ but you can change you hair as often as you like and they hold curl well.

Also try blow drying your hair with a large round barrel brush

What is the question really?!

First don't do layers not many anyway because all you'd do is take away from your very thin hair. Go for bobs or straight line funky haircuts with great highlights. Use products that will give your new cut volume as well, but don't use pomades or heavy grease stuff which will heavy down your hair instantly. Good choice in shampoo would be volume volume volume. Have at the hair salon!

If you don't want to go to a salon, let me tell you what I do:

I get a heavy conditioner and apply it halfway down and work it all the way through the ends. Then I go and work a little through the top, but not too much (I don't want my hair to look greasy!) I rinse it out after a couple of minutes--you'll notice that your hair already seems smoother and less full--the conditioner causes the hair folicles to lay smoothly and it takes out some of the body. Then I towel-dry my hair and spray in some de-tangler and serious straightening spray--not too much though, you still want your hair to feel like hair! :) I blow-dry it and finish drying it by straightening it with a ceramic straightener. My hair feels soft, smooth, light, and not "thick" at all. However, this process is so damaging to your hair that I usually only do it for special occasions or if I have a little extra time some day. For a HEALTHY, daily way to make it thinner, I don't have any advice. Sorry!

There is probably other ways besides going to a salon but going to a salon is the best choice. Getting layers and asking them to thin your hair with toothed scissors will make it alot thinner.

So pretty much I went to a salon to get my hair cut and styled. The lady cut off the length first then went in with a razer and thinned it.. and then blow dried it and straightend it then cut it again with thinning shears.. now my hair is WAY too thin for my likings... How long will it take for the thickness / bulk to return.?

Keep in mind I love the cut and style.. just when I feel my hair its TOO thin now and a pony tails look so stupid and small now.

Originally I had hair below my boobs and extremely thick with long layers and now its a bit above my arm pit with short layers.

My hair is super thick so I usually get my hair thinned except for when it starts growing back it has ALOT of volume...and for me this is only about a less than a month after doing it...i think it actually made my hair bigger than it was before...haha..so i just decided to go to another place and what they do is just do the ends of your hair...an i like that alot better

since you say extremely thick, I would say a month - 3 months max. My hair is also very thick and I always get it thinned; I notice it after a month and by 3 months it's back to normal.

I would say about a month. But if you sweat alot it will grow in faster. I know that's sound wired but. If you don't wash your hair for a while it will grow. Hair can grow under dirt for some reason.

Thining your hair is removing it. By cutting layers into it, you have to wait for the hair to grow back. Sorry, but the resonse of a couple of days was wrong. Hair is dead once it leaves the scalp, so it will won't regenerate from the bottom.

Changing your hair color will give you a new look.

You want that kinda of long hair but it sounds like you wanna be like him.

Just try a new hair color and that will open that "page" you want.

Be happy with who you are. It won't take long to hair your hair grow to that length.

what is a hair cut that will work with fine hair texture but medium - thick hair density? i have looked on some websites but most of them seem to believe that fine hair texture goes hand in hand with thin hair density.

I have the exact same hair. In fact they like to all come and have to feel my hair (it's baby fine) but when I would get a perm they would get mad because they thought I had thin hair and found out that I had a lot and would have to call later appointments and reschedule.

The best hair style for me is a long bob and long layers with the hair stylist texturizing the roots. This volumizes and gives it a look of fullness. Teasing the roots also gives it volume!

What ever you do, don't let the hairdresser at you with a razor! i did last cut and it ruined the look of my hair, as the actual srtands are to fine and end up frizzing.

My friends just had her hair cut. She was after a big scene side fringe and lots of short layers. But she ended up with a gorgeous fringe and layers, and REALLY REALLY thin hair at the bottom, and her hair used to be gorgeus and thick and long. And now its short and thin and she's crying 'cause she jates it. :S Does anyone have any ideas of what i could suggest she do? and some pictures of beautiful scene hair cuts which are short and thin at the bottom would be great too. :] Annndd.dd.. would blonde extensions go with brown hair, because she has some blondies and wants to know if they'd look ok, because theyd make her hair longer and thicker. :) Thanksss xxx:] LY

yeah! i thin my own hair, and straighten it too, it's so much quicker. it won't look completely POKER straight with layers [unless you're jen aniston], but if you have it thinned from underneath, it should look awesome

no actually the layers are really noticable when you straighten it, and it does look good, and i also just had my hair cut and layered and straightning my hair was always the look i would use, i even did if for my senior homecoming. now i just love my hair straight and layered, and it feels so much more healthy, and easyer to manage.

Your mom is wrong. You can get any hair style straight with the right products and straighteners. In fact it should be EASIER to straighten your hair if it isn't so thick! The more hair you have, the longer it takes. Although, by getting it layered, you will be able to see a little bit of a "wave" (possibly) where one layer ends... but it depends on how you get it cut. Get it done somewhere very professional and they will get it right for you, just explain to them what you want. Also, you might consider getting it chemically straightened... like a perm, but the opposite! Have fun and good luck

You can still straighten layered hair, I've had layered hair most of my life and I still straighten it. Howerever, I had my hair thinned about 5 years ago and the girl that did it wrong and my hair is WAY thin and it still is. So make sure you use someone that knows what they are doing.
